MEMRN Transactions – Digital Journal

The CHASE MEMRN Committee are delighted to announce the arrival of the first volume of MEMRN Transactions.

This digital volume is the result of two events organised between the winter of 2024 and spring of 2025. The Winter Conference was the first in-person event organised by the network and a resounding success. Hosted at the University of East Anglia (UEA), this two-day conference brought together a diverse group of scholars from the UK and further afield for a varied programme of research panels and outings in and around Norwich.

The Spring Showcase of 2025 served as an opportunity for those who could not attend the Winter Conference in person to instead present their research online during a virtual day conference. Bolstered by additional speakers eager to present their work, this event was yet another success. It brought together academics across three continents who, though divided by space, were united in their passion for all things within the realms of the medieval and the early modern.

This current volume is made up of five papers from attendees of the Winter Conference and Spring Showcase who were eager to formally put their talks into writing for the purpose of sharing their research with a wider audience. We hope you enjoy it!
